Despite being able to use a sword as if he's trained with it all his life and being able to kick ass and take names if he wanted, the thing to keep in mind with Ren is that he doesn't want to. Ren is someone with a Power. But he came into it at a late age, and it's only just starting to change him. And he's resisting it with all his might. He doesn't know how to be aggressive, confident, dominant. He's always been somewhat shy and quiet, keeping to himself, having few friends. But he's always been goodhearted, if a bit of a push-over. Now, he's not so much of a push-over. He's still somewhat awkward, though, trying to cope with the fact that half the time he's ready to fight and the other half he feels completely normal. He's an average student, decent at grades, once poor at sports but now they're effortless for him. Some people tend to perceive him as a nerd but really that's not the case. He's loyal, a bit inept, and again generally just nice. He's a firm believer of what comes around goes around. Even if someone is an ass to him, it takes a lot for him to fight back- even now. Insulting him is one thing, it tends to take actual blows for him to do any real fighting back. Now and before he got his power. When it comes to being with people he's relaxed with, that's the time he actually opens up. Otherwise if he doesn't outright stutter (not any more at least), he's pretty close. But when he's relaxed and in his element he can crack jokes, be a bit sarcastic even, and show that he's fairly honest by nature. Blunt sometimes, but he knows when to hold back his honesty. He can be dubious of people, especially of those who are especially in-your-face. Add a new knee-jerk reaction to punch that face and it's even worse for him.
